iContact BPO shortlisted in the Global BPO Talent Acquisition Awards 2021

iContact BPO has been shortlisted in the Global BPO Talent Acquisition Awards, the first-ever global awards ceremony that celebrates outstanding talent acquisition teams in the business process outsourcing industry from all over the world. iContact BPO is one of only two South African BPO providers shortlisted in the awards and flying the flag high for the country as the most favoured offshoring destination globally.

After receiving over 100 applications in eight awards categories, finalists were narrowed down to 50 finalists. iContact BPO is one of five finalists in the ‘Best Localization Champion’ category, with the awards taking place on 9 December 2021.  The ‘Best Localization Champion’ award goes to a company that doesn’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach but instead, adapts their recruitment approach to accommodate the cultural differences in each of their geographies.

‘Our entry was based on our partnership with FASSET to empower 70 young South Africans to kickstart a career in the BPO sector as a contact centre agent. We leveraged technology to streamline the recruitment process, including receiving voice notes via WhatsApp as a means to screen for the neutrality of voice suitable for international market requirements. We received thousands of applications and had to be smart and effective to facilitate interviews efficiently and conveniently for potential candidates, regardless of their geographic location. We relied on tech provided by the Knowledge Trust to invite shortlisted candidates to be interviewed in their own time, from wherever they were based,”explains Mushfiq Hopkins, GM of iContact’s Western Cape operation.

“Of the 7563 qualified applications received, 782 were shortlisted. We interviewed 175 candidates over five days and have already placed the first 50 candidates on a campaign for a client based in the US. Currently, one of those graduates – is the top performer on the campaign, which makes us incredibly proud. Based on our success with this campaign, Knowledge Trust remains one of our trusted recruitment partners. The real standout for us is that we were able to partner with a company that is as focused on social impact in recruitment as we are at iContact BPO. Impact Sourcing is a fundamental part of our business and HR practices, and will continue to be as we tackle youth unemployment in our country, one candidate at a time,” concludes Mushfiq.
